So it seems we officially have a hot seller's market in Western New York again this Spring! Now you might be thinking "Great! I've been planning to put my house on the market, and now I can without doing a thing!" And to be perfectly honest, in some scenarios that might be true. However, in a lot of cases this means that buyers are passing right over perfectly good homes that are bogged down with too much clutter or outdated decor. They are going right down the street to a home that is very similar but has more of a 'wow factor' and snatching it right off the market.
What does this have to do with Home Staging? The thing this market situation tells us is that buyers are out there! They are making offers and getting into bidding wars and sometimes going over the asking price. If your home is currently on the market and is generating little interest, it's time to consider Home Staging. If you are thinking of putting your home on the market and you know it looks outdated, definitely consider Home Staging. Don't be afraid to invest in a little refresher for your home, most clients are surprised at how much impact a few simple changes can make. For a few hundred dollars and a few hours of work your home will look so much better in listing photos (a HUGE factor in today's real estate market) and once buyers are in the door they will be able to picture themselves in the home. Make sure your home is one of the ones "going like hotcakes" not the one sitting there lonely for months.
